Truck fire ignited by gas spill, cigarette

IGNITED — A 2003 Kia Sorento, owned and driven by Mark Dufault of Oxford, became fully engulfed in flames while traveling on Yeaton Swamp Road in Oxford Sunday around 7 p.m. after hitting an object in the road, said Oxford Police Lieutenant Michael Ward. According to Ward, the collision spilled a can of gas in the back of the truck, which was then ignited by the driver's cigarette. Ward said Dufault was not injured in the accident.
