Hay catches on fire in Oxford barn

HAY ON FIRE —  Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Norway, Paris, Mechanic Falls and Oxford firefighters responded to a barn at Sam Rowe Hill Road in Oxford for six or seven bales of hay that caught on fire, said Oxford Fire Lieutenant Paul Hewey. He said the fire caught a portion of the barn on fire but did not cause any major damage. According to Hewey, the fire was extinguished within an hour. Hewey said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
