What's unique about the Oxford Fair?

Photo:

We have come every year for the past eight years. Sometimes there's some pretty unique stuff – they had a rodeo here one year, for instance. There's also the frying-pan toss, that's fun.

It's my first time here, I think it is nice and cozy, but I like the hustle and bustle of the big ones like Cumberland and Fryeburg.

I've never been to a county fair before, so it's all unique. I really like the animals –  I really liked seeing the pigs and rabbits; it was great to be able to pet some.

I've never been to a county fair before. We kind of wanted to come up to see what it's all about. We checked out every type of animal and we're excited for the demolition derby. My grandfather was a blacksmith, so it was cool to see the demonstration here earlier.

Pretty much everything – the frying pan throw is pretty unique. I've seen it at other fairs but it's usually only the women that do it. We kind of follow the fairs for the harness racing because every track is different.

You see a lot of people helping others at this fair, it's a pleasant atmosphere. I think it's perfect for the elderly, we didn't even know it was senior citizen's day and we came anyway. It's so polite and considerate.

It's my first time here, I like it. I don't think it's as crazy as Fryeburg or Cumberland [fairs]. It's small for us and I like it – I'd come back. There's plenty to do but it's small enough that you're not exhausted at the end.

I think it brings families closer together. Everybody comes out here to have a good time, your whole family comes out.

I think it's the diversity and people getting along. It's very polite, especially compared to other fairs. Other fairs are so crowded, people are pushing you and everything. This is very calming.

I think it's nice and clean. We love the senior dinner and I come for the frying pan toss –  I try to make it every year and I've won quite a few times, but I haven't made first yet. It's just nice here.
