Woman in Norway crash released from hospital

NORWAY —   A 24-year-old woman severely injured in a crash September 4 has been discharged from Central Maine Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman Tuesday.

Alyssa Senecal of Norway was trapped in her car for two hours on September 4 after crashing her 2000 Buick into trees on Eddie Kahkonen Road around 5 p.m.

Norway Police Officer Ron Cole said Wednesday that there are no charges at this time. Due to weather conditions at the time of the accident, Cole said it was difficult for the crash reconstructionist to determine how fast Senecal was driving.

"All we can say is she was driving too fast for road conditions," said Cole.

Rescuers from four towns worked to free her without furthering her injuries. There were no other passengers.

Firefighters from Norway, Poland, Paris and Oxford responded to the scene. Police said she was transported from the scene to Stephens Memorial Hospital and from there sent to CMMC in Lewiston where she was recently released.
