Should more time be spent enforcing dog licensing because of the rabies increase?

I think it should be the owner's responsibility to get it done. The authorities have enough problems without chasing dogs. I think people should be responsible for their pets. If my dog bites someone, I'm responsible, whether it's licensed or not.

Of course I do, but there's a lot of territory to cover, so it may be a very difficult task.

I think we should reinforce getting dog licenses. I live in an isolated area. My dog and my neighbor's dogs are vaccinated, so I'm less worried about it. I'd be more concerned about wild animals with rabies.

It should be up to the owner to take responsibility of the pet. Maybe they can make a program for owners to go to the town office and license rather than enforcing it person to person.

I think it's everyone's personal choice, there's definitely risks you take if you don't licence or vaccinate. Because of the rise in rabies cases, I might vaccinate, but I don't think registration is necessary – I think it's personal choice, I don't think it should be a law.

Even if they did, people would find some way to get around it.

Sure, it cuts down on rabies cases. If a child or anyone was bitten, they could go back and check record and not have to put the dog down because of the owner's irresponsibility.

Probably not a bad idea. I don't have a dog so I don't know much about vaccination, but it needs to be reasonably priced, in addition to enforcement. I know cost might be a barrier for people – vets are expensive.

No, we're getting enforced enough already. People just need to step up and be responsible for their pets. I have a dog and I always makes sure she has everything she needs.

Yeah, I license my dog; it's part of caring for a dog. If you can't afford what a dog needs, then you shouldn't really have one.
