How will the lack of job search assistance affect the area?
I think it will have an adverse effect. It's too bad, because we already have enough problems in this area with the availability of jobs.

I always thought of them [CareerCenter] as a very viable community service and a good place to go if you need help finding a job. If there's no place to go, what do you do?

Job search assistance gives people jobs – both the job search assistant, who works to get the people jobs and the people finding jobs.

Obviously it will leave more people unemployed. It will affect the local economy because they won't be able to go out and spend extra cash in order to stimulate the economy.

I imagine that it would make it more difficult. A lot of it is done over the Internet, but this will make it more inconvenient. You can go to the library, but that will be one extra step.

It would be bad because there aren't enough places to go to job search in the area. The library isn't open enough. They need to open an additional place to go besides the library; not everyone has a computer.

I would think that it'd certainly be negative – as far as finding jobs – for some people. If there's less services, it would have a negative affect for people in finding a reasonable position. With the economy the way it is, it takes more skills to get any job.

Extremely bad. What happens when people don't have a computer? The library isn't open 24/7. It definitely makes it harder.
