In what ways can we improve literacy?

I think a literacy coach program that was easy for people to sign up for. I work for the casino and we have a program like that for people who aren't super comfortable with computers. Having a program like that for reading and writing, maybe at the library, could help.

Definitely by starting at home with parents reading to their children more often and by becoming more involved in their schooling and making sure their child is learning at the rate they should be.

Do we still have Hooked on Phonics? Because that worked for me. I learned to read and write well. Maybe more book programs for kids would be good. We need to encourage them to read, instead of watching TV all the time.
