Thanks from Celebration Barn

To the Editor:

Thanks in large part to local supporters and area businesses, Celebration Barn Theater had a terrific season. In addition to hosting over 100 performing artists from nine countries, we saw a 25% increase in attendance at summer performances.

We also successfully launched three new project initiatives this year. Our newest original play, "Thumbs Up," premiered at the Portland Performing Arts Festival and toured venues around the state.

Our Colombian-American show, "The Fabulous Problemas," traveled from Florida to Indiana and received rave reviews as it traveled from Florida to Indiana. Additionally, our new scholarship program awarded the first full-tuition Emerging Artist Scholarship to Norway resident Rijah Newell!

Thank you to the many local businesses, too numerous to mention, that donated to our silent auction which raised over $5,000.

Special credit is owed to the many businesses within the community that supported our 41st season with sponsorship. W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency, Cafe Nomad, Norway Savings Bank, Goodwins Insurance, Crossroads Family Dental, Oxford Federal Credit Union, Twin Town Homes, King's Hill Inn, Maurice Restaurant, Shaskan Coins, and Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association all played a crucial role in making this year one of the best yet.

Please patronize these businesses so that they can continue to support this great cultural institution here in the Oxford Hills.

We simply wouldn't be here without such strong community support.
