Thank you, Chief Verrier

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paris Police Chief David Verrier for his time and services to the town of Paris. My interactions with Dave, whether in his police role, or his role with student athletes, were always positive and professional.

My first interaction with Dave was after a championship game in middle school football in which he orchestrated a police escort for our bus, from Oxford Plains Speedway to the middle school to celebrate the victory.

Former players from that team still speak about how special the escort was to them. Dave went on to coach and work closely with many athletic programs and athletes in our area.

On the professional side, Dave and his son voluntarily purchased and erected a fence around an open, gravity fed well on land abutting mine, in order to help not only the landowner, but to bring peace of mind to my family also.

Our town’s loss is Windham’s gain. On behalf of my family and myself, I thank Dave for his invaluable time at Paris and wish him the best of luck in his new pursuit.
