Thank you, NFD

To the Editor:

We would like to give a long overdue Thank You to Chief Dennis Yates and the entire Norway Fire Department for the help and assistance they provide to The Progress Center and the individuals we support.

Each year during National Fire Safety Month they visit the Center and work with program participants and staff on fire safety.

To say individuals supported in Progress Center programs look forward to the yearly visit would be a gross understatement. The lines are always long as they wait their turn to go through the Smoke House.

The level of professionalism and heartfelt displays of caring and compassion by the members of the Fire Department does not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated. They always go out of their way to calm any fears and address concerns anyone might have.

During fire extinguisher trainings they are always acutely aware of and very attentive to the level of assistance that might be needed by the participants.

There are many members of the Fire Department to thank that have participated in the yearly visits including Chief Yates, Mike Twitchell, Mike Godin, Ernie Roy, Dave Godin, Terry Twitchell and Mike Davis. I want to apologize to anyone I may have missed and please know that we very much appreciate your help and support!

Let me close by saying that although we all hope we’ll never need to be on the receiving end of your services, we certainly respect and appreciate all that you do for The Progress Center and the community.
