Let the people be heard

To the Editor:

I can't understand the "no public participation" stance of the Otisfield Appeal Board regarding the hearing on the Cell Phone Tower issue. Shutting everyone out, not just the Friends of Scribner Hill group, certainly gets people's back up.

It's time to go back to square one on this issue and do it all over. There's plenty of people who would like a say in the matter on either side. I can see it as a warrant at town meeting if this can be done.

My personal thought is that if a cell tower is erected on the hill, it ought to be equidistant between the Vallee house and the neighbor's house, and of a design that blends in with the sky.

I see grey color towers against the sky in other places that seem to be a pole with a round ball shape at the top. My question is: why does it have to be 120 feet taller than the trees?

I'm sure there are plenty of other people in town with thoughts and questions. Please consider-reconsider letting the people be heard.
