Thank you, Oxford Hills!

To the Editor:

On behalf of all the members of both the Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club and the Oxford Hills Rotary Club, we would like to extend a very sincere "thank you" to the entire Oxford Hills community.

We truly appreciate your support of our recent annual fundraisers, including the auction, flea market and ticket auction, pancake breakfast, lobster and steak fest, polio road toll and the e-waste recycling event.

The success of these events is crucial to allow us to make the many donations back to the community that we do, including dictionaries for all third graders, May Day Play Day/Bike Rodeo, OHCHS scholarships, food pantries, Camp Susan Curtis, Right Start and Aspire Higher, just to name a few.

We know with the current economic state what it is, the need for assistance is great. We also know that donors are being solicited by many different groups and organizations who are also fundraising.

We are very proud to be a part of the Oxford Hills community, and even more proud that both clubs can work together for a common cause. That is rare in the circle of Rotary and Kiwanis International. We like to lead by example.

Also, a special thank you to the many businesses who support their owners and employees to be members of these service groups and allow them the opportunity to serve the entire community and beyond with their volunteer time and energy.

So again, we thank you, Oxford Hills!

If anyone is interested in joining either of these service clubs, feel free to contact Kiwanis President Cindy Hakala at 393-36222 or Rotary President Bob Schott at 567-4150 for more information.
