Dennise Whitley deserves support

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Dennise Whitley, who is a candidate for the Maine State Senate in District 13. Dennise is an honest, hard-working person who has proven organizational skills.

She has held management positions in three Maine hospitals and worked as Government Relations Director for the American Heart Association.

She understands the legislative process well and her experience working for the AHA will enable her to represent us effectively in the Senate next term.

Although her work experience certainly qualifies Dennise to represent District 13 in the Maine State Senate, there are other equally important reasons why she deserves our support.

She has common sense and is very pragmatic. I believe she will set partisanship aside and work collaboratively in the Senate to promote sound public policy that makes sense. She is also an open-minded person who always wants to know what other people are thinking.

I know this because I did a lot of traveling with her this summer as she visited voters in the Oxford Hills area. She jokes about how much she likes to talk, but what I noticed was that she does a lot of listening.

I'm certain that if we choose her as our representative in the Senate she will listen to our views and concerns and promote legislation that will benefit us all. I urge everyone to support Dennise in November.
