Editorials respected

To the Editor:

I have been reading the Advertiser Democrat regularly for about a year now, and I am very taken by it. I particularly enjoy the dozen or so opinions offered by a sample of the community to a topical question, and the weekly report from Helen Hadley.

I also appreciate your reporting on topics of interest, and your staff's skill in sorting out issues.

The Paris town council behavior and the failure of Avesta to do its job in assuring safe housing are examples that readily come to mind.

In short, I think this paper has an ambitious task to handle, and it does it well.

The reason I am writing, though, is your editorial writing. I deeply respect your willingness to take strong editorial positions that are likely not shared by a fairly significant swath of the community, like this week's editorial taking on the governor.

As important, you not only write with clarity, but your insight is heartening. I really appreciate your editorial writing, week after week.

I am betting that you hear lots from people who disagree. Know that you have one more fan.
