Firefighters battle blaze in Minot

FULLY ENGULFED — Fire crews from Minot, Mechanic Falls, Hebron and eventually Auburn and Norway, battle a fire Wednesday night that fully engulfed an apartment building at 712 West Minot Road, not far from West Minot Trading Post. According to reports, tenants from all three apartments made it out of the building safely and were accounted for. Reports say that the property is also owned by Jeanie Cote of Jeanie's Salon, but extent of damage to the business is unknown. An onlooker said Wednesday it appeared a building adjacent to the two-story apartment building was on fire as well as a portion of the main building. Firefighters were still on scene around 9:15 p.m. when they requested additional crews. According to reports, firefighters were expected to remain at the scene late into the night, as the fire could be scene from miles away.

SHUTTLING WATER — Not far from the Mechanic Falls line, firefighters were able to access hydrants from that town as they battled the fire. According to reports, crews relied on a parade of tanker trucks that hauled water to the scene.
