Police search for suspects in Poland home invasion
POLAND — Androscoggin County deputies continue to search for three male suspects possibly involved in a home invasion on Route 26 last Thursday morning.
Detective Sergeant William Gagne of the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department confirmed Monday that the department does have some leads, but no arrests have been made.
On August 16 around 11:38 a.m., the department responded to a home invasion at 409 Maine Street.
According to the resident, he was tied up and assaulted by three black males who entered his home. He described the assailants as wearing dark clothing, gloves, ski masks and backpacks.
No weapons were used or displayed, though before fleeing, the suspects stole money from inside the residence, Gagne said.
According to Gagne, a search by a police K9 and multiple officers did not locate the suspects, however, some property the suspects dropped was recovered.
Gagne said the three men were last seen on foot on Route 122 in Poland.
The male resident who was tied up was not injured, Gagne said.
He said that investigators do not believe this was a random act. He has requested that the public contact the Androscoggin Sheriff's Department at 753-2599 if they have seen the suspects or have any information about the incident.
