NORWAY — A pregnant woman riding a bicycle at the intersection of Tannery and Main Streets last week received minor injuries after a driver under the influence of alcohol accidentally struck her with a Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to police.

"He was coming out of The Trolley, evidently didn't see her, and knocked her off her bike," Norway Police Chief Robert Federico said.

According to Federico, the victim, Jessica Rolfe, 27, of Paris was not seriously injured.

"She was released from the hospital and apparently there's nothing wrong with the baby," he confirmed on Friday.

Garry W. Stack, 57, of Crockett Ridge Road was arrested at 10:20 p.m. on August 14 and charged with Aggravated Operating While Under the Influence of an Intoxicating Substance (OUI).

"Because there was a personal injury accident involved," Federico explained of the charge, "it's a felony, actually – a Class C OUI."

According to the Oxford County Jail, Stack does not have any prior OUI convictions.

Stack was leaving The Trolley, a bar and grill on Main Street, when the incident happened and was arrested on Tannery Street by Norway Officer Stephen Cronce, said Federico.

Stack was not injured in the accident.
