McLaughlin garden series continues

PARIS — The McLaughlin Garden and Homestead 2013 winter lecture series continues on Wednesday, February 13, when Eli Goodwin of Goodwin Nursery will discuss "Underused Landscape Plants and Undervalued Landscaping Techniques."

Goodwin, an Oxford Hills native and Cornell University graduate, has reopened the former Goodschmidt's Nursery on Route 26 in Oxford. He plans to discuss both plant material and tips to develop a landscape.

Other lectures in the series include Mike Murphy on February 27 discussing woodland plants, Mark Brandhorst on March 13 discussing rock plants, Cindy Tibbetts on March 27 discussing herbs, and Mary Van Nest on April 10 discussing birds.

As in past years, the talks will be held on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. The public is invited for tea beginning at 3:30 p.m. The talks are free but donations are greatly appreciated. The lectures will be held at the McLaughlin homestead on Main Street near the Oxford County Courthouse.
