Benefit concert
NORWAY — A Concert Fundraiser for the food pantry will be held Saturday, February 2 at 6 p.m. at the Norway Church of the Nazarene, 10 Grove St. in Norway. Several Maine musicians will be performing at this fifth annual annual concert to raise money to support the food pantry. With the economy, there is a huge need to help people through a food pantry.

Texas Hold'em
HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will be holding a Texas Hold'em tournament on Saturday, February 2, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road in Harrison. The doors open at 11:30 a.m., start time is 1 p.m. and end time is 6 p.m. The $55 entry fee includes the stipend for the State license fee. This is limited to 100 players so come and have some fun.
Food and refreshments will be available at this BYOB event. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lions Club renders to the community.
Suppers
OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Softball Teams (Farm League and Little League) are having a fundraiser Italian Dinner at the Otisfield Community Hall, Route 121, on Friday, February 15. There will be two seatings, 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., with possible entertainment to follow. The menu will include lasagna, spaghetti and gluten-free choices. Donations will be gratefully accepted and will be used for uniforms, sweatshirts, equipment and updates to the snack shack. For more information, call Amy at 627-4319.
MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society will be hosting its Almost Famous Roast Beef Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2. And keeping with a new wrinkle, a side main dish of roast turkey will also be available. The cost of the supper is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
The society recently located copies of the History of Mechanic Falls, published in 1993 during the town’s centennial celebration. These will be available for the purchase price of $20 each. All proceeds will go toward of the maintenance of the society’s building.
SOUTH PARIS — A roast turkey dinner with all the fixin's and homemade pies will be held Saturday, February 2, at 5 p.m. at Deering Memorial Methodist Church on the corner of Main and Church streets in South Paris. The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. There is ample parking behind the library and town office.
