Let’s Talk Local

NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library and Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education have been selected as lead partners for the community’s participation in a new Maine Humanities Council initiative called Let’s Talk Local.

Let’s Talk Local will provide an opportunity to have meaningful discussion around an issue of importance to the community about which opposing viewpoints may be held.

Let’s Talk Local will begin the conversation. A one-session reading and discussion program will take place at the Norway Memorial Library in late summer or early fall. Let’s Talk Local will use a variety of texts (including poems, short stories, illustrations or works of art, short films, and songs) to open conversation within communities about a specific theme.

On Thursday, January 24 from 10 a.m.-12 noon (snow date Thursday, January 31) a group will meet at the Norway Memorial Library to help determine a concern to be discussed for the community.

If you are interested in joining this group, please RSVP to the library at 743-5309 ext 1 by January 18. For more information contact Beth Kane at 743-5309 ext. 2 or Joan Parker at 743-8842 ext. 1.
