From left, Oxford Hills Middle Schoolers, Dakota Herrick, seventh grade, Abbie Earle, eighth grade and Nate McNutt, eighth grade, hold their third, second and first place awards, respectively. Every year, the National VFW sponsors an essay contest for middle school students to compete in. This year, students were asked to reflect on what they would tell our Founding Fathers if they had such an opportunity. According to OHMS teacher Jolene Twombly-Wiser, the students also won cash prizes for their accomplishments.
