Stuff the bus December 8

OXFORD — Please help stuff the bus for the Oxford Helping Hands Food Pantry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, near the Cone Head Ice Cream Shop in the parking lot of Ocean Job Lots and Dollar Tree stores on Route 26 in Oxford.

The storm dates are December 15 and 16. Both of these stores have very reasonable prices for all the things that are needed.

Times are tough and who knows who'll be next in need. This group are friends and neighbors who want to help and you can help too by buying a couple of extra items and donating to the Oxford Helping Hands Food Pantry.

Needed are shampoo, laundry soap, bar soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, dish soap, sugar, salt, dry or boxed milk, soups, ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.

This is being organized by Marge Ripley as a 9/12 Project. The significance of the 9/12 Project movement is to remind us how we felt on 9/12/2001. The day after the attack on America, we all felt less secure, but much more in tune to the needs of all those around us.

We wanted to do something, anything to share love, caring and unity among all of us. This group hopes to be a reminder that we still need and want to be the people we were on 9/12.

There is no membership required, just find something you can do for an organization, a school or an individual and then do it. For ideas, go to 9/12.com or call Marge Ripley at 890-0563.
