Craft fairs

MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150 Auxiliary is sponsoring a Chinese auction and craft fair on Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Post on Elm Street in Mechanic Falls.

NORWAY — The annual Holiday Fair and Raffle at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church will be held at the church this year on Saturday, November 17. Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 1:30 p.m.

The church is located at 32 Paris Street (between Beal and Winter Streets). Stop by before or after visiting the fair at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School!

In addition to a great variety of gift and food items available for purchase from local crafters, the fair features a bake sale, a “trash and treasure” room and a "pick your prize" raffle. This year the raffle includes two $100 cash prizes as well as other seasonal items.

Ample parking is available at the back of the church and in an adjacent parking lot. Both are entered from Beal Street. For more information, contact Anne at 739-9661.

LOVELL — A Snowflake Fair will be held at the Lovell United Church of Christ, Route 5 in Center Lovell on November 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tables with fresh Balsam wreaths, partridge berry bowls, balsam fir pillows, handmade gifts, baked goods, treasures, costume jewelry, and a Christmas boutique will be available.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for a Thanksgiving Basket or a beautiful "Aunt Grace's Star" pattern quilt. Drawing of winners will be at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served for your convenience.

Auction

PARIS — A Take a Chance Auction to benefit the Oxford County Agricultural Society on Saturday, December 1 at Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine St. in South Paris. Doors open at 3 p.m. and the auction starts at 5 p.m. There will be over 200 items, including tools and Christmas items.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle and Dollar Table items. Refreshments will be available. For more information, call Jackie at 739-9411.

Texas Hold ‘em

MECHANIC FALLS — A Texas Hold ‘em tournament will be held Friday, November 16 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls. Buy-in is $35.

Breakfast

HARRISON — The Harrison VFW Post, on the Waterford Road in Harrison, will be holding its popular breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 18 at the post on Route 35.

The breakfast features scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, home fries, fruit cup, sweet breads, orange juice and beverage. Donations accepted.
