Craft and holiday fairs

PARIS — A holiday fair will be held on Saturday, November 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Paris Universalist Church on Pine Street. A luncheon of beef stew or corn chowder will be available for $7. The fair will feature many lovely handmade mittens, quilts, gift items, collectibles and more.

PARIS — A craft fair will be held Saturday, November 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Church Street in South Paris. Table rental for crafters is $10. For a space, call 743-7231.

PARIS — A Christmas sale will be held Saturday, November 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Deering Memorial Methodist Church in South Paris. Featured will be gifts, Rada, baked goods and Mrs. Claus' closet. Come see what's new this year and watch Santa dance.

BYOB dance

HARRISON — The Harrison VFW Post on the Waterford Road in Harrison will be having a byob dance on Saturday, November 10, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Admission is $10 per person for 21 and over. Veterans Day dinner

BRIDGTON — The volunteers of the Bridgton Community Center will be hosting their annual complimentary Veteran’s Day Dinner to be held at the dining hall of Oriental Masonic Lodge, Route 117, Harrison Road, Bridgton on Sunday, November 11 at 12 noon. All veterans and their families are cordially invited to join in a time of feasting (ham dinner with all the fixings) and fellowship as they honor all who have served in the country’s Armed Forces. Please plan to come and connect with old friends and gain new ones.

Thanksgiving dinner

NORWAY — Residents of the Oxford Hills community are invited to have dinner with their friends and neighbors at the community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 22. The dinner with all the Thanksgiving favorite foods and dessert will be held at 12 noon at St. Catherine of Sienna Church on Paris St. in Norway. The dinner is co-sponsored by St. Catherine of Sienna and Christ Episcopal churches. Reservations are recommended to help with the planning. Call 743-2606.

Luncheon

OXFORD — On Saturday, November 17, from  1 - 2 p.m., a free turkey luncheon will be held at His Place Teen Center, 254 Webber Brook Rd. in Oxford. This event is sponsored by Bridge of Hope Pentecostal Church and His Place Teen Center.  For those attending, there will also be a free drawing for two food baskets.  For more information, call 647-2191.

Suppers

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will hold a Community Potluck Supper on Thursday, November 15 at 6 p.m. All are welcome! The Community House is located in Waterford Flat on Plummer Hill Road behind the village green next door to the church. Community suppers are held on the third Thursday of each month through May. The hosts for this supper are the Waits and the Engdahls. Bring a friend and a dish to share and enjoy chatting with new friends and neighbors.

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris annual Chicken Pie Supper will take place on Thursday, November 15, at 5:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale at 4:30 p.m. Crafts and cookbooks will be on sale in the Ladies’ Parlor. The cost will remain the same as last year: $8 for adults and children 12 and over; $3 for children 11 and under. The menu will be the same as always: the now famous homemade chicken pies, mashed potatoes, peas, squash, cranberry sauce, dessert pies, coffee, tea, punch and water. Don’t miss it! HEBRON — The outreach group at the Hebron Community Baptist Church will be having their boiled dinner on Saturday, November 10 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include boiled ham, potatoes, carrots, turnip, onions, beets, cabbage, hot rolls and apple crisp. All this and friendship for $7.50, kids $3.50.

HARTFORD — A benefit supper for Clifford Bragg Jr. will be held Saturday, November 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hartford Town Hall, 1190 Main Street in Hartford. For more information, contact Rosemary Henderson at 597-2270 or the Hartford Town Office at 388-2674.
