Addictions conference is scheduled

PARIS - The 12th annual basics of Alcoholism and Addictions Conference is coming to South Paris. This is exciting news for Oxford Hills because alcoholism and drug addiction are major problems in the area.

Awareness, prevention and options for treatment and recovery are key to decreasing the affects of addiction on families and communities. Featured presenters this year include addiction specialist Dr. Mark Publicker, President Northern New England Society of Addiction Medicine, who will speak on Addiction & the Brain; Stephen Andrew, clinician and Motivational Interview expert from Portland: How to Truly Make a Difference; A View from the Cruiser by Zane Loper; Recovery Options in Oxford County, and lots more.

The conference runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, December 7 at the First Congregational Church in South Paris. This event has sold out the past three years and has been extended by one hour for 2012.
