Preparing for Birth classes are offered

NORWAY — The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital will be holding their next four-day Preparing for Birth Class. Classes will be held Thursday evenings, November 8, 15, 29 and December 6 from 6:30-8:45 p.m. in the Harper Conference Room at the Ripley Medical Office Building (193 Main Street, Norway). Hilary Ware, RN, will be facilitating the course.

Join a group of expectant parents having fun learning about the labor and delivery experience at Stephens Memorial Hospital's Preparing for Birth class. They will explore how to relax and allow themselves to flow with their labor through breathing and relaxation techniques.

Coaches will learn how they can assist the pregnant woman through the process of labor and share in the joy of the baby’s birth. Information on making a birth plan, comfort measures, stages of labor, and cesarean delivery are all explored. A question and answer session is always part of the class.
