Photos needed from local veterans

OXFORD HILLS — Area veterans are still encouraged to submit pictures from when they were in the service to be included in this year’s Veterans Day program to be held on November 12, at 10 a.m. at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Sponsored by the American Legion Foster Carroll Post #72, the program will include a musical tribute to the five branches of the armed forces, guest speaker Congressman Mike Michaud, a long time supporter of Maine’s veteran community, and special guest Dane Tripp, a wounded combat veteran and recently retired second-in-command of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.

A slide show will highlight photos of area veterans, with a special tribute to those who lost their lives while in the service defending our country.

There is still time to get your pictures to the Post by mailing them to P.O. Box 215, South Paris, ME 04281, or by dropping them off at Oxford Hills Law during normal working hours at 197 Park Street in South Paris.
