Sales

WATERFORD — The Last Indoor Yard Sale of the season will be held in Waterford, on Plummer Hill, next to the church, on Saturday, October 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Now is the time to get your decorations for the holidays. They have a good selection of books as well as plenty of children and adult games. There are almost like new items that can be used for Christmas gifts and many puzzles, great to work on in the winter. You will find something for everyone. Proceeds will benefit the maintenance fund of the two buildings.

PARIS — A huge jeans sale will be held Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thrifty Gift Shop, 659 Park Street in South Paris (Route 26, three miles north from Market Square). There will be over 100 jean items with sizes ranging from infant to adults. For more information, call Peggy at 357-7072.

BUCKFIELD — There will be a pie sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 26, at the bank in Buckfield. Proceeds will benefit the American Legion Auxiliary Post in Buckfield.

Fairs

MECHANIC FALLS — The Auxiliary of American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls will be having a craft fair on Saturday, November 17, at the Post on Elm Street in Mechanic Falls. Anyone wishing to rent tables, please contact Peggy Goddard at 212-0538.

PARIS — A craft fair will be held on Saturday, November 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maine Veterans' Home on 477 High Street in South Paris. There will also be a refreshment counter so come and have a fun day.

Supper, dance

PARIS — A supper and dance will be held on Saturday, October 27, at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. The supper is from 5 to 6 p.m. and the dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with music by the Jones Band. The cost for the supper is $8 and the cost of the dance is $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

MECHANIC FALLS — The Auxiliary of American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls will be having a baked bean and casserole supper on Saturday, November 3, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Post on Elm Street in Mechanic Falls.

PARIS — The fifth grade from Paris Elementary School is hosting a fundraising lasagna dinner on Friday, October 26 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Paris Fire Station. The proceeds from the dinner will be used for the fifth grade trip to Sturbridge Village. Please join in raising funds for this worthwhile event. Cost is $12 for adults at the door or $10 for a pre-buy; children 12 and under are $5.

PARIS — A roast turkey dinner will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 5 p.m. at Deering Memorial Methodist Church on the corner of Main and Church streets in South Paris. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. There is ample parking behind the library and the town office.

CASCO — It's a scrumptious, "spooktacular" Saturday night supper at the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco, on Saturday, October 27 from 5 to 6 p.m., where you'll find Halloween a la Mexicana! Enjoy salads, casseroles, corn bread, beans and hot dogs, homemade pies, and mild to sizzling hot Monster Mash Chili!

Dress in costume and get a treat; there will be a grand prize for best adult costume and a cute prize for best children's costume. It's only $7 for Senoritas and Senors, $4 for ninos 10 and under. Families with young children eat for $20 max, and that includes non-alcoholic margaritas and coffee! Don't be a scaredy cat, join us for the best Saturday night supper in the area, and that's no trick, only treat! Sponsored by the Mission Committee.

Breakfasts

EAST OXFORD — A hunters' breakfast will be held on Saturday, October 27, from 4:30 to 7 a.m. at the Lake Thompson Fish & Game on the Paine Road in East Oxford. The cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The menu includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, baked beans, toast, juice and coffee. MECHANIC FALLS — The Auxiliary of American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls will be having a hunters' breakfast on Saturday, November 10, from 5 to 9 a.m. at the Post on Elm Street in Mechanic Falls.
