Veterans’ outreach is scheduled

NORWAY — Commander Ron Snow of the American Legion Stone Smart Post 82 of Norway would like to announce the second annual Veterans’ Outreach Briefings to be held on Sunday, October 21 at the Legion Hall, 212 Main Street in Norway.

These briefings are to provide a better awareness of benefits available to Veterans, male and female. Last year's briefings were attended by 57 men and women; of that number, over 40% found out that they were entitled to some VA benefits at Togus.

The briefings will be provided by Western Maine Veterans’ Home, Maine Department of Veterans’ Services, and Togus VA. The briefings will start at 9 a.m. and run until around 12 p.m.; coffee and donuts will be provided.
