Harrison Rec plans activities

HARRISON — Harrison Parks and Recreation announces these upcoming activities.

Youth Basketball registrations: Girls and boys in grades one through six on Thursday, October 25 at the Harrison school gym from 5-6:30 p.m. Fee: $35/child, $50 max/family. Detailed information and registration forms can be found at www.harrisonmaine.org; click on Recreation then follow to Youth Athletics.

Coed Adult Pickup Basketball: Mondays at the Harrison school gym from 6-8 p.m. Proper footwear and clothing required. This program follows the school calendar.

Teen Sports Night: Tuesdays at the Harrison school gym from 6-8 p.m. Choose from basketball, dodgeball, volleyball. Proper footwear and clothing required and follows school calendar.

Halloween Festival: Wednesday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the fire station. Harrison children grades Pre K- sixth welcome. DJ Mitchell Music and More with light/smoke show, Dalmatian Bounce House, games, costume parade, food and fun. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Parks and Rec. Café: on Presidential Election Day, Tuesday, November 6 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in the Town Office garage bays. Enjoy local homemade soups, chowders, chili, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, hot dogs, breads, pies and desserts. All proceeds benefit year round recreation programs for all ages.

Senior Social and Luncheon: Thursday, November 8 (moved to Thursday due to Election Day) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the community room next to fire station. This social will be sponsored by the Harrison Lions Club so there is no cost. Featuring Thanksgiving shepherd’s pie, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and beverages. Word games, guess jar, Bingo and prizes too!
