Films about tar sands to be shown in Otisfield

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Conservation Commission will be screening two films about the energy intensive process of tar sands oil extraction, processing, refining, and transporting.

As large Canadian Oil companies plan to pump tar sands oil through the Portland Pipeline, residents in Western Maine are raising awareness about the risks of a tar sands oil spill in the Sebago Lake and Crooked River Watersheds.

The films will be shown Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at the Otisfield Town Office, located at 403 Route 121.
