Health care film to be shown

NORWAY — Maine AllCare and the Public Interest Forum will present the Healthcare Movie on Thursday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fare Share Commons on 443 Main Street in Norway. Admission is free.

The movie, a 65-minute documentary, tells the real story about the health care systems in Canada and the United States, and how they evolved to be so different. The film is narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, who is the grandson of the "father of Canadian health care," Tommy Douglas.

Following the movie at 7:30 p.m. there will be a discussion and a question and answer time led by Maine AllCare President Dr. Julie Pease of Brunswick.

Some of the questions are: What does the Supreme Court's decision mean for health care reform in Maine? How can Maine make health care affordable and accessible for everyone?

You will also learn about Maine AllCare and its vision for universal health care for Maine. For more information, call Tom Whitney at 743-2183 or go to www.maineallcare.org.
