Feline Fix It Wagon comes to South Paris
PARIS — The Rozzie May Animal Alliance Feline Fix It Wagon is on the road…. next stop, South Paris.
They are teaming up this month with Paris Farmers Union in South Paris on Tuesday, October 23 to offer the community much needed low cost spay/neuter for cats. The RMAA Feline Fix It Wagon also visits the Paris Farmers Union in Bridgton once a month.
The mobile spay/neuter unit arrives bright and early at the designated location. Team RMAA sets up for a day surgery. Surgery clients arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., then check in, receive a brief exam, weighed, and given a room aboard the trailer specifically designed for felines.
The doctor arrives at 8:30 a.m. and gives each client a physical exam. Surgery starts around 9:30 a.m. and continues until all cats have been altered, and received any additional services requested. Check out is the same afternoon and each family goes home with post-operative instructions and emergency contact information.
This state of the art mobile unit arrived in Conway, NH the second week of May. Team RMAA drove it from Phoenix, AZ; a good opportunity to learn about it!
Low-cost spay/neuter does not mean less quality of care. All surgeries will be performed in the separate surgery suite by licensed veterinarians, supported by veterinary technician and assistant. Team RMAA volunteers will also be on hand to help with paperwork and registrations.
The Feline Fix-it Wagon will be offering cat packages, which include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, Capstar flea treatment, and nail trim. Other services offered include deworming, distemper complex vaccine and flea treatments.
