Fall foliage walk slated

WATERFORD — The Western Foothills Land Trust is sponsoring a fall foliage walk on Sunday, October 14, for an approximate two-hour walk and if desired, there is an opportunity for a longer hike.

The rain date will be Sunday, October 21. The walk will be through a portion of the Portland Pipeline to see firsthand the fall colors and relationship to the Crooked River and its tributaries.

The group will gather at 1 p.m. at the pipeline corridor where it crosses Mill Hill Road in Waterford.

Directions: From Norway, take Route 118 toward Waterford. Turn onto Route 117 at the head of Norway Lake. Take the first right onto Sodom Road. Travel approximately 4.5 miles or 0.8 miles from the iron bridge crossing of Crooked River.

In Waterford, from the intersection of McWain Hill Road and Mill Hill Road, go 1.2 miles east towards Norway.

Bring water to drink and wear comfortable outdoor walking clothes and good outdoor footwear.
