Androscoggin hosts Night Out benefit

LEWISTON — “After going through the process of caring for a sick husband, I made a commitment that I would help those who must rely on outside help,” states Cyndi Robbins, Chair of the Autumn Night Out Committee. “I joined the Board of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice three years ago and this is my second year chairing the committee for Autumn Night Out. This is an awesome organization that reaches many people in our area who need that little extra help to stay independent and comfortable in their own homes.”

This year’s event will be held on October 26 at Poland Spring Resort in Poland Spring. The event begins at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, complimentary wine and Baxter beer tasting, and silent auction. This is followed by dinner, live auction and the evening ends with dancing to Tony Boffa and his band. They also have Norm Karkos joining in as Master of Ceremony.

There is reserved seating for dinner. Reservations are $50 per person. Tables of six or eight may also be reserved for $300 or $400. Poland Spring Resort is offering a special overnight rate for Autumn Night Out guests - $70 per couple including continental breakfast. Last year, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice provided hospice care to more than 1,000 people at home, in nursing facilities and at the Hospice House in Auburn. Support from community events like Autumn Night Out are vitally important to sustaining the volunteer and bereavement support services as well as providing care to those who do not have health insurance.
