Chinese auction

PARIS — A Chinese auction to benefit the Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing will be held Friday, October 5, in the cafeteria at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, a $1 ticket table including two overnight getaways, gift certificates, a bake sale offering up yummy treats throughout the evening and much more. Organizers thank all of the sponsors who have generously donated the auction items.

Italian supper

OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host the second Fall season dinner on Saturday, October 13 at the Church at 231 Rayville Rd., off Route 121 in Otisfield. The menu will be Italian, with spaghetti, macaroni, meatballs, sausages, garlic bread, salads and desserts. The first setting will be at 5 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. They can seat 36 at each setting. Donations will be used to support the Deacon's Fund, which is used to help people in need.

Dance 

PARIS — The Jones Dance Band will be playing old fashioned dance music at the Legion Hall on Church Street in South Paris, on Saturday, October 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 7 to 10 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults. Come and have a great time with very friendly people.

Craft fair

OXFORD — The Oxford Fire Relief Organization will be hosting their annual Fall Craft Fair on Saturday, November 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Oxford Public Safety Building on Route 26 in Oxford. If you would like to join them, there is still space available. Please contact Dave at 577-2618 for applications.

Quilt raffle

WATERFORD — Waterford Santa's quilt raffle fundraiser will be at the Waterford Fall 5k. The winning ticket will be drawn at the event on October 7. There is still time to purchase your raffle in hopes of winning the sunflower design quilt.

All monies raised benefit the Waterford Santa group, a nonprofit organization that buys Christmas gifts for the children of Waterford, who otherwise might not have any gifts under the tree.

Tickets may be purchased at the Waterford Town Office, or e-mail the group at waterfordsanta@yahoo.com, or at the event.
