Summers visits county

OXFORD – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Summers was in Oxford County Saturday, where he greeted and met with Mainers at the Oxford County Fair.

He also visited local small businesses on Route 26, including the Village Kitchen and the Big Rig Shop, where he heard directly from owners about the burdensome paperwork requirements, complex state laws and overzealous regulators they face on an everyday basis.

Summers traveled to Rumford, where he met with supporters at the opening of the Rumford GOP Headquarters. Summers spoke to local volunteers and activists at the event where he stressed the importance of this year’s election and encouraged them to come out and participate in November.
