Crafters

NORWAY — The Guy E. Rowe Elementary School is calling all crafters. They are looking for skilled craft persons to come and join in for their first Crafty Diva Fair fundraiser on Saturday, November 10, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. They currently have over 30 vendors participating in this year’s event and there is still room for more.

PARIS — South Paris American Legion Post 72 Auxiliary is looking for crafters for its craft fair on November 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tables are $15 and to reserve one, call Sylvia at 743-7231.

Texas Hold'Em

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club is sponsoring a Texas Hold'Em Tournament on Saturday, September 22, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road in Harrison. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., start time is 1 p.m. and the end time is 6 p.m. The $55 entry fee includes the stipend for the State license fee.

This is a BYOB event and food and refreshments will be available. This is limited to 100 players so come and have some fun. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lions Club renders to the community.

Supper dance

PARIS — Foster-Carroll Auxiliary and Legion will be serving a spaghetti and meatball public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street with a dance following with music by the Jones Band.

Salads and a variety of breads and desserts will also be included in the supper. The cost is $8 for adult and $4 for children under 12 for the supper and the dance will be $5. Take-out orders will be available. For more information, call 674-3017.

CASCO — The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco, invites you to their fabulous annual Public Harvest Supper on Saturday, September 22, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy locally raised and smoked ham, locally grown beans, squash and vegetables baked to perfection, locally grown goodness for casseroles, locally picked apples for crisp, and locally roasted coffee, all for only $7 adults and $4 children under 10; family with small children limit $20.

Free supper

NORWAY — After a short hiatus in August, the monthly free supper at Second Congregational Church is back! Join in on Friday, September 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. for a delicious homemade meat loaf dinner with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, veggies and desserts by Bruce.

Started over a year ago by Deb Ladner and Pam and Bruce Davison, the suppers are self supporting, thanks to donations from the community and gifts given in memory of Art Gouin. The suppers are free and open to the public. Call the church at 743-2290 or visit www.seconch.com for more information.

Turkey

HARRISON — Welcome fall at the perennially popular Turkey Supper, to be held Saturday, September 22 at Camps Newfound and Owatonna on Route 35 in Harrison. Turkey with all the fixings and homemade desserts may be enjoyed in front of a roaring fire in Camp Newfound’s rustic dining lodge. Tickets will be available at the door; admission begins at 5 p.m. and is $10 for adults and $5 for 12 and under.

PARIS — A turkey supper will be held on Saturday, September 29, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall on East Main Street in South Paris. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for kids 12 years and under.
