McLaughlin Garden part of Gems of 26 Apple Day

SOUTH PARIS — The McLaughlin Garden is participating in the Gems of 26 Apple Day on Saturday, September 29. The theme at the South Paris garden is “Bobbing for Apples.” Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition to the traditional bobbing for apples game, visitors will have a chance to taste unique varieties of apples. Some have a long history in Oxford County. There will also be an apple-themed treasure hunt.

Besides a typical treasure hunt in which one follows clues, those who would prefer to use their geocaching skills can seek the treasure by bringing their GPS devices.

Gem members, including the Shaker Village and the Maine Wildlife Park, will also offer apple-themed activities.
