Silent auction, wine tasting at library

WATERFORD — The Waterford Library is inviting residents and visitors to its autumn gala, the big library event and fund raiser of the year, on Saturday, October 6 at 6 p.m. A silent auction will be accompanied by a wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by a brass quintet.

The event will take place inside the library and outside under a tent. Offerings for the auction will include a variety of art works, antiques, hand made items, home made pies, services, gift certificates and much more. Even the old library catalog will be offered for sale. Black tie is optional, wallets are not.

Anyone with items to donate may contact library board member Nancy Forest at 583-6551. Tickets are $3 per person or $5 for a couple.

They are available at the Library, at Pie Tree Orchard or from board members Al Struck (583-4417), Corinna Beebe (583-2724) and Nancy Forest (583-6551). Tickets will also be available at the door.
