French students to serve six-course French dinner
PARIS — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School (OHCHS) students of French are planning to serve an authentic, delicious, six-course French dinner this month as a fundraiser for a trip to France in 2013. The French dinner will take place on Friday, September 28 at 6 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in South Paris on E. Main St.
Diners will be served up the following menu:
•Crudités - a vegetable appetizer
•Soupe au pistou – a vegetable soup from the South of France with a type of pesto added
•Coq au vin – the famous French chicken braised in wine with mushrooms and onions A selection of French cheeses
•Tarte tatin – an apple tart from the Normandy region of France
A vegetarian option – a quiche – will be available for the main course. All other courses are vegetarian. Gluten-free alternatives will be provided instead of the two courses that use flour.
All produce used in the dinner will be fresh local produce donated by friends and family.
The dinner will be served by OHCHS students, dressed in black pants and white shirts, who will be travelling to France in 2013. Tables will be set with linen tablecloths and napkins. The Hall will be decorated with a French theme.
Cost of this delicious, elegant dinner will be $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets are available at Books N Things. Anyone wanting to attend this festive occasion should buy a ticket early, as the event is expected to sell out.
