Food preservation class scheduled

PARIS — Ever wonder how to preserve all those great garden vegetables? Kate McCarty, Program Aide and Master Food Preserver of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will teach you the basic steps for canning and freezing.

The classes will be held at University of Maine Cooperative Extension, 9 Olson Road in South Paris.

The first class is Bath Canning and Freezing: Tomato Salsa, and will be on August 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The second class is Canning: Applesauce, on October 18, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a materials fee of $10 per class.
