Fair exhibit deadline nears
OXFORD — The Oxford County Fair is a four-day fair this year. The dates are September 12 to 15.
All entry forms must be postmarked by August 20. To view the departments, exhibit requirement rules and to print off an entry form, go to www.oxfordcountyfair.com.
Department 31, canned goods; Department 32, home industries and fancy work; Department 34, Christmas Corner; Department 35, paintings and drawings and Department 40, Extension and special displays, will be received at the Agriculture Center on Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. only.
Department 28, fruits, pumpkins and vegetables, and Department 33, plants and flowers, will be received at the Center on Sunday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. only.
Department 30, bread, pastry, cakes, cookies, fudge, candy, maple syrup and dairy products, will be received at the Center on Tuesday, September 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. only.
The King Arthur Flour Baking Contest has returned to the Oxford County Fair. Junior contestants, ages 10 to 17, will be making blueberry muffins using the King Arthur flour recipe. Adults will be making pumpkin whoopie pies using the King Arthur flour recipe.
Exhibitors must bring the UPC label or the empty King Arthur flour bag when they submit their entry at the Agricultural Center, Expo 2, on September 11, between 4 and 7 p.m. Pre-entry is required and must be postmarked no later than August 20.
