Paris library slates book sale

PARIS — The Paris Public Library’s annual used book sale will be held the Saturdays of July 28, August 4 and August 11. This year’s sale will also feature used VHS movies.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all three days, and is being held at the Old Paris Farmers’ Union building, at the corner of Main Street (Route 26) and Skillings Avenue in South Paris.

On July 28, hardcover books will sell for $1 each, trade paperbacks cost 50 cents each, mass market paperbacks are 25 cents each and VHS tapes will be 50 cents each.

The sale on August 4 will be a half-price sale: hardcovers will sell for 50 cents, trade paperbacks 25 cents, mass market paperbacks for 10 cents each and VHS tapes 25 cents each. During the bag sale, on August 11, a standard plastic grocery bag may be filled with any sale items for $1.

The money raised at the sale is used to purchase books for the library’s children’s collection. Last year’s sales raised over $3,000.
