OPS provides camp for girls

OXFORD — For the ninth year in a row, the Oxford Plains Speedway Charitable Foundation has generously provided camper scholarships for low-income and foster girls in the Oxford Hills area to attend The Summer Camp.

The Oxford Plains Speedway Charitable Foundation has been providing Summer Camp opportunities to local girls since 2002.

The Summer Camp provides full camperships for girls, ages six to 16, from low-income families and foster homes. The girls come to camp from New York City, Hartford, Providence, Boston, Worcester and rural communities throughout New England, including the Oxford Hills.

Each year, neighborhood girls come to The Summer Camp in Washington to experience the social, emotional and physical benefits of sleep away camp. Since its founding, nearly 7,000 girls have participated in The Summer Camp’s programs.
