MILTON PLANTATION – Jason “J.J.” Gurney II loves to spend time helping his dad build things and play computer games. He’d love to go to Alaska someday and catch some very big fish. For this six year-old, Storyland is a favorite place to go to ride the log ride and get wet.

Q: How old are you?

A: I’m six years old and I go to kindergarten.

Q: Where do you live?

A: In Milton Plantation. That’s near Rumford.

Q: Do you have any brothers or sisters?

A: No, I don’t.

Q: Do you have any pets?

A: I have two cats and a Beta fish. The cats are named J.J. III and Brook, but I haven’t named the fish yet. I probably will name him someday.

Q: Where do you go to school?

A: To Meroby Elementary School in Mexico. That’s near Rumford too.

Q: What do you like least about school?

A: The work! I don’t like to do the work. There’s always so much work!

Q: What do you like the best about school?

A: Playing on the computer. I play games like Club House. I learn stuff too.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do?

A: I like to help my dad build stuff. We’re going to build bunk beds and I’m going to screw the ladder in. We’re going to build a tree house too and I’m going to sleep in it. It will be made of wood on the outside and pillows on the inside.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Chicken nuggets and hot dogs. I just love chicken nuggets. I put ketchup and mustard on the hot dog and mix it together and it turns orange.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

A: Christmas! You get presents at Christmas. Last year I got a big play barn. It’s really big and I play with it all the time.

Q: Have you ever traveled outside of Maine?

A: Yes, I have.

Q: Where did you go?

A: To New Jersey when I was really little, and we go to Storyland ever year. I love the log ride. It’s fast and you get wet. I like that.

Q: Where would you like to go if you could go anywhere in the world?

A: Alaska because they have very big fish there and I’d like to catch me one.

Q: If you could be anything you want when you grow up, what would it be?

A: A mechanic. I’d like to work on cars and bikes and stuff. I like things with engines.

Q: Who’s your best friend?

A: Darrian and Tommy.

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: The Little Beaver and the Echo. It’s a good story.

Q: What is your favorite television show?

A: Tom and Jerry. It’s so funny. They do some really stupid things that are so funny.

Q: What is your favorite song?

A: Buttercup. It’s a nice song.

Q: What is special about you?

A: I’ve been saying this for a hundred years; I’m special because I love people so much.

Q: Do you have a special wish?

A: I wish we’d never run out of energy and we could live forever. No one would ever die.
