Chinese auctions

DENMARK — The seventh annual Huskies Chinese/Silent Auction will be held Saturday, April 27 at the Brownfield/Denmark Elementary School. Doors open at 2 p.m.; ticket pulling begins at 4 p.m. There will be over 200 items, including four free passes to Disney World! Hot dogs, chili and baked goods will be available for sale. Proceeds will benefit Brownfield/Denmark PTA. For more information, please contact the event coordinator at 632-9166.

PARIS — A Chinese Auction to benefit Responsible Pet Care will be held Saturday, April 20 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris. Bidding will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; winners will be drawn beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be over 300 great items. Tickets will be $5, $10 and $20; there will also be bonus tickets. Food and refreshments will be available.

Sales

PARIS — A yard sale will be held Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. The lunch counter will be open and there will also be 50/50 tickets.

AUGUSTA — A Quilters & Crafters Garage Sale will be held Saturday, March 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 9 Summer St. in Augusta. There will be a large variety of craft items available for sale. There will be yarn, patterns, fabric, quilting supplies, tools and many more items to interest all crafters - scrapbooking, basketmaking, quilting, knitting, crocheting, beading and others. Admission and parking are free. The church is handicap accessible.

Fair

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church is having its annual Spring Fling Fair on Saturday, March 30, at the Hartford Town Hall, Route 140, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be great Easter gifts, yummy food, Easter desserts, 17 crafters, crocheted and knit items, woodworking, jewelry, quilting, homemade items, and much more. Dance

PARIS — Dance to the Jones Band on Saturdays, March 23 and 30, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the South Paris Legion Hall on Church Street. The cost is $5 for adults.

Pizza Challenge

OXFORD — Oxford Recreation will be hosting its sixth annual Pizza Challenge on Saturday, March 23 from 12 to 1 p.m. This Pizza Challenge will be held at the Oxford Recreation Center in Oxford. Cost will be $3 so come and enjoy the pizza and be ready to vote on your favorite cheese, pepperoni and specialty pizzas! Pizza donated by Outpost, Polly’s Variety, Amato’s, Ari’s, Woody’s Delivery & Carry Out, Sideline Variety, West Paris General Store, Bolsters Mills Store, Lampron, Maguire Hill Market, Doe’s …..with more to come!

Suppers

NORWAY — A Chowderfest, sponsored by the Norway Trackers Snowmobile Club, will be held Saturday, March 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge on Temple Street in Norway (the street behind the Post Office). There will be all-you-can-eat chowders and chili, plus bread basket, soft drinks, desserts, and more. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and free for children under two. Proceeds go to trail grooming and maintenance.

NORWAY — The Norway Firemen's Relief Association will be holding a Roast Pork Supper at the fire station Saturday, March 23 from 5-6 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and free for children six and under.

PARIS — A public supper, sponsored by the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary, will be held Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m. at the Paris Fire Department, Western Ave. in South Paris. The menu will include spaghetti pie, salad, bread and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children four to 12 and free for children three and under. There will be many raffles, as well as a 50/50. All proceeds from this supper will be donated to Responsible Pet Care.

CASCO — The Sunshine Club of Webbs Mills will not hold a public bean supper on Saturday, April 6. The last public bean supper will be held on Saturday, May 4.

Breakfast

CASCO — A pancake breakfast will be held on Maine Maple Sunday, March 24, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Crescent Lake Community Hall, Poland Spring Rd. (Route 11) near Webbs Mills Rd. (Route 85) in Casco. Breakfast, including pancakes, sausage, OJ and coffee, will be provided by The Sunshine Club of Webbs Mills and Maine Maple Syrup by Sweet William, Casco. Cost for this all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5.
