Pet Rescue is the topic

POLAND — "Animals on the Move; Pet Rescue through Relocation" is the topic to be discussed by Taylor Slemmer at the Person to Person Potluck/Program, a monthly event sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library.

Slemmer, who has worked in animal welfare since 1997, is currently the Volunteer and Transport Coordinator at Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick.

She has arranged for more than 300 dogs and cats to travel from places as far away as Puerto Rico and California to new homes in Maine.

Person to Person welcomes everyone on Sunday, March 10, to the Community Room of the Alvin Bolster Ricker Memorial Library in Poland.

The evening will begin with a potluck supper and conversation hour. Supper guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. The program, featuring Taylor Slemmer with her animal stories and pictures, will begin at 6:30 p.m.
