Food Bank
POLAND — A Food Bank Fundraiser with matching grant will be held Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Poland Community Church, 1212 Maine St. in Poland. Sales tables include Twice Nice, Silent Auction, Quilt Raffle, Spring and Easter gifts, children’s games, bakery and homemade candies.
Luncheon will be offered at 11:15 a.m. There will be a special soup, fish chowder and finger sandwiches. For more information or donations, call 998-4227.
Yard sale
PARIS — A yard sale will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 72 on Church Street in South Paris. The lunch counter will also be open and there will be 50/50 tickets.
Texas Hold'Em
HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club is sponsoring a Texas Hold'Em tournament on Saturday, March 2, at the VFW Hall on 176 Waterford Road in Harrison. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., the start time is 1 p.m. and the end time is 6 p.m. The $55 entry fee includes the stipend for the State License Fee.
Food and refreshments will be available at this BYOB event. It is limited to 100 players so come and have some fun. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lions Club renders to the community.
Karaoke
OXFORD — Karaoke with TJ the DJ will be held on Friday, April 19 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Oxford Legion Post # 112, 169 King St. in Oxford. Admission is $7. There will be door prizes and a 50/50. This event is being hosted by the War Memorial.
Preteen dance
OXFORD — A Preteen Dance with TJ the DJ will be held Friday, March 29 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Oxford Legion Post #112, 169 King St. in Oxford. Admission is $5. There will be door prizes. This event is being hosted by the Sons of the Legion/child/youth program.
Suppers
HEBRON — A benefit supper for Brian Tibbetts will be held Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m. at the Hebron Academy dining room. The menu will include spaghetti, lasagna, bread and desserts. There will be a 50/50 drawing and a Chinese auction.
PARIS – A public supper, sponsored by the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary, will be held Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m. at the Paris Fire Dept., Western Ave. in South Paris. The menu will include corned beef and cabbage, ham, mashed potatoes, veggies, macaroni and cheese, salads and homemade desserts.
There will be a 50/50 raffle as well as raffles for a fresh veggie basket and a free meal for the next public supper. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for ages four to 12 and free for ages three and under. All proceeds will benefit the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary and Fire Personnel.
PARIS — A roast turkey dinner with all the fixin's and apple crisp and ice cream will be held on Saturday, March 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, at the corner of Main and Church Street in South Paris. The cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. There is ample parking behind the library and the town office.
