NORWAY — The Progress Center, in Norway, is both proud and honored to be the recipient of $1,600 in grant funding from the Gannett Foundation and WCSH6 to support the Oxford Hills Community Table. The generosity of the Gannett Foundation will benefit many as the Community Table continues to help provide food security within the greater Oxford Hills region.

Debbie Sample, community relations director at WCSH, said, “We felt that the Oxford Hills Community Table served the needs of several different populations in the area, giving people a place to meet and be together as well as providing a meal. We were also impressed with the number of people served through this organization.”

Kristin Benedix, executive director for the Progress Center said, “We want to thank the Gannett Foundation for recognizing not only the need within the greater Oxford Hills community, but also for their willingness to help us in our effort to provide free meals for our friends and neighbors through the Oxford Hills Community Table. Working together we can make a difference in the lives of many.”

The Oxford Hills Community Table, located at 35 Cottage Street in Norway, prepares and serves meals on the first and third Thursday evenings of every month from 4:30-6 p.m. Lunches are available on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Although there is no cost for the meals, donations are always appreciated.
